James Tovey

Jim Tovey is a Managing Director with Pickwick Capital Partners and Managing Principal of JLT Capital Partners LLC. With almost 40 years of experience, Mr. Tovey has a successful history of capital raising across a diverse array of investment strategies and cultivating relationships with sophisticated institutional investors, spanning various channels and geographies.
Mr. Tovey began his career in the investment management industry managing global fixed income assets at State Street Global Advisors before founding Pacific Capital Fixed Income Advisors. PCFIA merged with Independence Investments ($30+B AUM) where he was a Partner and managed fixed income assets, and later headed Sales, Consultant Relations and Client Service. Mr. Tovey then led the development and formation of Convergent Capital Institutional (CCI), a sales and marketing platform representing the institutional quality affiliates of Convergent Capital Management, a multi-boutique holding company and subsidiary of City National Corporation (NYSE: CYN), with combined assets of $31B. He then left CCI in 2009 and co-founded Greenside Capital, a registered Broker-Dealer, and in 2011 launched JLT Capital Partners to focus exclusively on business development for alternative asset managers. Jim earned an MPPM (Masters in Public and Private Management) from the Yale School of Management, an MS in Aerospace Engineering from University of Michigan, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University. |
