James Elkus

James Elkus is a Managing Director at Pickwick Capital as well as founder and Managing Partner at Gateshead Capital Advisors. Mr. Elkus has been developing, investing in, and raising capital for various alternative asset classes for over two decades. While his experience includes venture capital, private debt, private equity and hedge funds, the majority of his career has been focused on real estate value creation of the following asset types: large-scale mixed-use, specialty retail, outlet retail, multifamily, condo conversion, hotel, office & lab, and land. For six years up to 2013, Mr. Elkus served as a consultant to developers, land owners, real estate opportunity and income funds, as well as a dedicated hotel fund. He formerly served as a development executive and ran the Boston area development activities for Capital Properties. Prior to this, Mr. Elkus was a Senior Director of Finance & Operations with Avero Inc., a hospitality focused, venture-backed, start-up technology company.
Mr. Elkus earned a BA from Colgate University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He is a FINRA-registered representative at Pickwick Capital Partners and hold the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. |
