John B. Levy

John B. Levy is a Managing Director at Pickwick Capital and the President of John B. Levy & Company, Inc., a real estate investment-banking firm. He is a well-known commentator and analyst on commercial real estate financing trends. Mr. Levy co-created the first and pre-eminent index to measure the performance of investments in the commercial mortgage industry, called The Giliberto-Levy Commercial Mortgage Performance Index. With Mr. Giliberto, he also recently originated the Giliberto-Levy Hi-Yield Index (G-L 2) for mezzanine debt and preferred equity investments.
Mr. Levy has presented nationwide to major real estate associations and key industry groups, including the Mortgage Bankers Association, the Urban Land Institute, and ICSC. Mr. Levy has appeared regularly on Bloomberg Surveillance with Tom Keene and Fox Business and is a full member of the Urban Land Institute and the founding chair of a ULI national product council – IOPC Black. He was also Council Counselor for the Industrial and Office flights of the Urban Land Institute. He was also a former member of the Board of Directors of Anthracite Capital Inc. (NYSE: AHR), a New York Stock Exchange REIT managed by BlackRock, Inc, and a former member of the Board of Directors of Value Property Trust (NYSE: VPT). Mr. Levy received a BA in economics from Harvard University and his Master of Business Administration, specializing in real estate and corporate finance, from Georgia State University. He is a FINRA-registered representative with Pickwick Capital Partners. |
