Karen Powell is a Managing Director at Pickwick Capital Partners and serves as a Managing Partner at Chamonix Global Capital, a NYC-based boutique alternative asset private placement and advisory firm. Prior to Chamonix, Ms. Powell served in the same capacity at Wren Capital, where she expanded Institutional investor relationships and engaged in investment offerings of over $1 billion with domestic and international general partners. Prior to Wren Capital, she was Co-Founder and COO of a mid-sized services company whose clients consisted primarily of government institutions and which successfully exited to a private equity backed competitor.
Previously, Ms. Powell was Managing Director at Merchant Forecast, a New York-based research firm providing independent U.S. specialty retail sector research to the largest U.S. and Canadian institutional investors including sovereign entities, financial institutions, pension plans and investment managers. Ms. Powell was also a Managing Director of a New York-based investor and media relations firm specializing in the financial and industrial sectors. Ms. Powell started her career at IMG Sports and Entertainment, the world's largest athlete representation and sports management company. A lifelong equestrian and former elite competitor, Ms. Powell has medaled in multiple individual and team jumping competitions at the North American Young Riders' Championships. Most recently she accomplished her Grade 9 piano with Honors from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Ms. Powell studied economics, math and French at Huron College and graduated with an HBA from the Ivey School of Business at Western University. She is a FINRA-registered representative with Pickwick Capital Partners. |
